Google Isn't the Only Map Your Customers Use
iPhone owners search on Apple Maps by default. If you're not there, you're invisible to them.

Here's a blind spot most local businesses have never thought about: every iPhone ships with Apple Maps, and a huge share of iPhone owners never change the default. When they tap an address or search "coffee near me," they're searching Apple Maps — not Google.
If your business isn't claimed and complete there, you simply don't exist for those customers. No profile, no pin, no call button. They'll pick the competitor who bothered to show up.
It's free and takes twenty minutes
Claim your business through Apple Business Connect — Apple's free equivalent of a Google Business Profile. Add your hours, your categories, your photos, your logo. The interface will feel familiar if you've done Google. Most owners can finish it in one sitting.
What to get right
Match your details to Google. Same name, same address, same phone number, same hours. Consistent information across platforms is a trust signal to every search engine.
Upload real photos. Apple Maps profiles with photos get tapped; empty ones get skipped. Same rule as Google — real and recent beats nothing.
Check your pin location. Apple sometimes drops the pin in the wrong spot, especially for businesses on busy corridors like 380 or the Tollway. Drag it to your actual door or customers end up at your neighbor's.
This isn't about abandoning Google — Google still owns the biggest share of local search. It's about the customers you'd never know you lost, because they searched on the map that came with their phone and your business wasn't on it.
